Tracknote Support
Help with account access, permissions, Live Scout, music connections, private Collection data, privacy requests, and account deletion.
Last updated: August 26, 2026Account access
Create an account
- Open Tracknote and select Create a New Account.
- Enter a valid email address and a password between 12 and 128 characters.
- Confirm the password and submit. If account creation succeeds, the app signs you in.
You may also use Google Sign-In where available. A Tracknote account is separate from optional Apple Music or YouTube connections. Spotify is available only for public catalog discovery and outbound track links; Tracknote does not connect Spotify accounts.
Cannot sign in
- Confirm the email address and password are entered correctly.
- If the app reports too many attempts, wait before trying again.
- If you created the account with Google, use the same Google account or add a Tracknote password from account settings where available.
- Email support if you remain locked out. Do not send your password.
Microphone and location permissions
Live Scout asks for microphone access to let ShazamKit recognize nearby music on device. Tracknote does not upload or store raw microphone audio. Location helps select nearby venues and privately validate that a Scout session is associated with the chosen venue.
iPhone
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone or Location Services, find Tracknote, and enable the permission you want. Tracknote uses location while the feature is in use; it does not need “Always” access.
If you decline either permission, you can still use non-location-dependent areas such as Radar browsing, Sessions, Collection, playlists, and account settings, but Live Scout may not start or may remain pending.
Live Scout troubleshooting
- Use a physical device and make sure the song is audible near the microphone.
- Select the correct venue before starting.
- For a single attempt, tap the circular Scout button. For continuous tracking, press and hold as shown in the app.
- Recognition can fail for unreleased music, live edits, low volume, loud crowd noise, or tracks not in Shazam’s catalog.
- Location or accuracy issues can cause an event to remain pending or be rejected.
- Offline metadata is queued and retried. Keep the app available to finish delivery when connectivity returns.
When reporting an issue, include the venue, approximate time, track title if known, and whether the app showed pending, delivered, duplicate, or failed. Do not send an exact home location.
Collection, sessions, and playlists
- Recognized tracks appear under Sessions after the Scout session is ended or synchronized.
- Saving a track adds it to your private Collection.
- Ratings, reviews, notes, cues, and private playlists are account-scoped.
- A shared playlist exposes only sanitized public music information and the saved set prompt. Revoke its link to stop sharing.
- AI set suggestions are drafts; final track IDs and order are validated against your Collection.
Connected services
Apple Music, YouTube, and Instagram Professional connections are optional and separate from your Tracknote account. Spotify catalog discovery and outbound Spotify track links do not connect a Spotify account, import Spotify playlists, or use Spotify account playback. Instagram connection is available only to eligible DJ and venue-operator accounts using a Business or Creator profile; personal Instagram accounts are not supported by Meta's API.
Open More → Connections to disconnect Instagram. You may also revoke access from the provider's own account settings. Disconnecting a provider does not delete your Tracknote account, Collection, reviews, or playlists. Disconnecting Instagram does delete the locally stored Instagram token, mirrored profile image, and synced recent-media records.
Provider catalog availability, playback, and profile data are controlled by the provider.
Privacy and data requests
You may request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion where applicable. Email from the address connected to your account with the subject Tracknote Privacy Request. Describe the request and the account email. We may ask for reasonable verification.
Send a privacy requestSee the Privacy Policy for data categories, uses, providers, retention, and your choices.
Delete your account
- Open Tracknote and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to More → Password & Security → Delete Account.
- Review the deletion summary, type DELETE exactly, and choose Delete Permanently.
- Tracknote immediately revokes active sessions and removes or de-identifies account-scoped data.
The deletion process covers your account profile, active sessions, private Collection, ratings, reviews, notes, cues, private playlists and comments, Live Scout sessions and precise presence evidence, role requests, push tokens, and stored provider connections and tokens associated with your account. Sanitized public venue timeline entries and narrowly required authority-bearing audit records may remain only when they no longer identify you.
If you cannot access your account, contact Tracknote from the email address connected to it. We may ask for reasonable ownership verification. Never send your password.
Contact Tracknote about deletionReport a bug, venue issue, or safety concern
Email support with the affected screen, steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, app build, device/browser version, and a screenshot when safe. For a venue correction, include the venue name and the public source supporting the correction.
Do not include passwords, OAuth tokens, raw location logs, or sensitive information belonging to another person. Tracknote is not an emergency service; contact local emergency services for immediate danger.
